Dear members of the ASOY community, we are pleased to announce that the Board has come to terms with Mr. Brad Bell as our next Director.  Mr. Bell brings enormous experience, commitment, and enthusiasm to the task of assuming leadership of ASOY at a very important time following the total renovation and transformation of our school facilities and implementation of the IB program thanks to the vision and leadership of Director Sheena Nabholz.  We especially would like to thank Director Nabholz, the faculty, all students, parents, and staff members who tremendously assisted in the interviews and professional sessions with each of the three finalist candidates.

Mr. Bell comes to us from serving as Secondary School Principal at the International School of Dakar from August 2012 to present.  Other assignments include High School Assistant Principal at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona from July 2008 to June 2012; Secondary School Assistant Principal and teacher at the American International School in Egypt from 2003 to 2008; and other teaching positions in Iowa, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. His experience in the United States and in other nations will offer effective leadership, and we are encouraged by his priority to promote an environment of positive morale where teachers attain their highest professional development goals and students achieve academic excellence. He is also well versed with the IBDP program and will be able to offer great insight and leadership as ASOY graduates its first batch of IBDP students in 2018.

The ASOY School Board looks forward to working with Director Nabholz and the entire faculty, staff, and students during the next six months prior to the transition of Directors, and we reaffirm our commitment to the community of ensuring that ASOY’s positive reputation and record for academic excellence is further strengthened in the years ahead.
